Background Bonanza

Hi there!

MFT Stamps are having this fun card camp at their blog. I wanted to join the last camp they had but didn't have time and now I am doing this in the nick of time. I might not be able to do all the challenges but I have done two so far. I started with the background bonanza. And I used stamps from MFT called Recipe for happiness.

I stamped my images with versamark and sprinkled white embossing powder on them before using my heat tool. Then I colored the whole background with distress ink; wild honey, picked raspberry and spun sugar.

I colored the chef from the same stamp set with copics and cut out  a shape from MFT's Inside and out Stitch Round rectangles.

I earned a badge too:

Watercolor for cardmakers - homework day 1

Hi!

I am a bit behind at the onlinecardclass I am taking right now called Watercolors for cardmakers, exploring mediums. But here is the first card I made. I love to use embossing powders when I color with watercolors so I made a similiar card of Jennifer's but I used a stamp from a small company that was called Momas. I used the watercolor pens called ZIG Clean Color Real Brush. I find them easier then the Distress Pens to color directly on the paper.

Have a nice day!

A Get Well Soon card

I heard about a girl who is in the hospital far away from home and wanted to send her a card. Didn't know how I would start so I took some help from sketch #155 over at Retrosketches.

 I used papers from MME.

Here you can see the different layers.

I saw that Virgina's View Challenge #13 turns one year old ( Congrats Virginia) and that the challenge this time was to emboss. Since I love to emboss I embossed the flowers with gold embossingpowder from WOW before I watercolored them. I also embossed the greeting.

And finally since I used stamps from Paper Smooches I enter the card in their challenge Anything Goes.

Mists and stencils on a LO

Today I am showing a layout I made for En Liten Butik. I wanted to make a layout using my mists so I used Tropicana Teal and Gold Lame from Heidi Swapp then I stamped with distress ink and used inca gold through a stencil. Then it looked like this.

And after adding papers and photo and decorations it looked like this.

If you want more info on which products I have used go to En Liten Butiks blog.

A CASE on Gayatri's card

I have been following a Blog for a while called K and R Designs and she makes amazing cards so you have to check out her Blog! Now she is having a little challenge for us. She like most of us Pin things on Pinterest and she wants us to CASE a card that she has pinned. She pinned this beautiful card by Gayatri, that I also pinned in my own way ( I took a photo of it with my mobile phone). I do have Pinterest but I never pin beacuse I never go to my side on Pinterest

Here is my take on Gayatri's card.

I used white embossing powder and then I colored the big cups with distress markers ( tea dye, black soot, fired brick, chipped sapphire, broken china and weathered wood). The stamps comes from two different card kits from Simon Says Stamp, The stamp sets are called Hand Lettered Winter Wishes and What's Brewing?.

I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog and this week it is Anything Goes.

Merry Christmas

I am saying Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to you all with a layout I made the other day for En Liten Butik. It is a part of my December Daily. This year I decided to make layouts, I don't know if that is a great idea but I bought a red 12 x 12 album for a bargain so I give it a go. I have only done two pages so far so I am a bit behind but I'll try to make them Clean and Simple and I will try to not spend so much time on them. The stories will be the most important.

I think you are so cool

Today I made another card with my new stamp set from Paper Smooches called Chilly Chums, and I made the card for this weeks challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Blog. This week it is a Designer Drafts Challenge and the sketch looks like this.

I used various colors of Distress inks to make my background and then I embossed the snowflake that is in the stamp set with Wow Metallic Gold embossing powder. I colored the seal with Pumice stone distress color and the scarf with Chipped Sapphire. The speech bubble comes from Hero Arts.

I am also entering this card in Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search.

Lovely leaves turned into lovely feathers

The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge has a lovely inspiration photo this time, and I got so inspired that I had to make a card for it. I started yesterday but it took so long time for the card to dry before I could finish it so that is why I am entering it in the last minute.

I was so inspired by the colors that I used nearly all my red distress inks to make the background on watercolor paper. Then I sprayed it with Mr Huey's mist called Shine that made the card shimmer. I don't have any leaves stamps but I found some feather dies from SSS that I gold embossed. The stars also comes from SSS and I diecut them out of a black glitter papper from DCWV. And the Happy Birthday stamp is also from SSS.

It was really difficult to photograph this card and the colors are not right, well I hope you like it anyway.
I hope you have a wonderful day today!

Homework- Day 2

Today I managed to make another card as part of my homework for Stretch Your Stamps 2. Young Laura Sterckx showed us how she distressed a card so it got an ombre effect, This is my take on that. The die comes from Simon Says Stamp and I so love the little border aound it that you can diecut in another color but I think I have to match them up better next time:)

Birthday Fishes

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog has a challenge now that runs out soon and the theme is Mid-summer. For me summer is sun and swimming in the sea or lakes rather, and fishes lives there so I used my new SSS stamp, die and stencil set to make this card. I was inspired by Nichol Mcgouirk when I did the card but she makes embossing on and using vellum so much easier then it was for me:)

A close up on the fishes and the air bubbles that I put glossy accent on.

I used distress ink on a Tim Holtz watercolor card and placed it on a white cs and then I also watercolored the fishbole's background and stamped with distress inks too. The fishes and the chest is colored with copics.

An embossed card

Hello from a hot Sweden!

Today I am showing this card I made over at En Liten Butiks Blog. I embossed the text with clear embossing powder and then I distressed the paper with picked rasberry and spiced marmelade. After I let it dry I embossed the circles ( they are from Simon Says Stamp) with Aged Green Embossing Enamel from Stampendeous. And that is a embossing powder that you have to heat from underneath.

See how the enamel shimmers in green and gold!

Have a nice day!

HEY!

I have made another card today, I guess it will be the last card I make in April. Here in Sweden we celebrate this day by having a big bonfire. We have one really close to us and the whole village turns up and there will be people singing and maybe selling hotdogs/candy. The two last years I have been to sick ( I had major heart problems) to go up there but tonight I will:)

This card fits with Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge that starts today with the theme "Anything goes". You should use Lawn Fawn stamps/dies/paper if you have any. I was inpired by Nichol Magouirk that made this watercolour background by using distress ink. I coloured the dinosaur with distress ink ( iced spruce and a blue colour).

I have used the HEY ! stamp from SSS May card kit, and the dinosaur and the speech bubble comes from Lawn Fawn. I used four different blue distress inks.  I hope you like it!

Fusion challenge

Found this challenge blog called Fusion and the challenge is to:

Play with just the sketch challenge or play with just the inspiration photo or create a fusion by combining both challenges into one card.

This week the fusion looks like this:

I did a fusion of both and this is how my card turned out.

I used a stencil from Heidi Swapp that I stamped on with Versamark ink pad and then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder on it. Then I distressed it with three different colors of distress pads. Did the same on the butterfly and I also heat embossed the greeting.

A gold butterfly

I made another card today for the STENCILED card class. I wanted to do another card with the nice stencil I just got. Thought it was so fitting to do a birthday card with it. I again used two different distress pads to color it and then I diecut a butterfly from SSS and embossed it with gold on both sides. Then I embossed a text stamp from K-design with gold too. Fiddled a long time to get the little pearls to stick to the paper, but it turned out nice so it was worth it. Listened to paperclipping Roundtable while I was doing it so it wouldn't be so boring ( boring=try to make the pearls stick).

Embossing paste

On Day 3 of the STENCILED class we got to watch several tutorials about embossing paste and similiar products. It was messy and the creme that I used didn't work so well with glitter or embossing powder, but it was a fun product to work with. Í also realised that it didn't work to use a homemade stencil if it's made of cs. For this card I used a stencil from Studio Calico and dies from Magnolia. The text stamp comes from K-design.

Embossed butterfly

So now I have another card that I made using the same technique as the card with the gold leaves on it. This time I also used a homemade stencil by diecutting a butterfly from SSS, and stamped on it with the embossing pad on it. Then I used an embossing powder that is clear and shimmery. On top of that I used two different purple distress ink pads. The "Grattis" stamp comes from Gummiapan and I also embossed that one with a clear embossingpowder.

Embossed leaves

For my second card I was inspired by Laura Bassen and her use of heat embossing and stencils. I used a homemade stencil that I got by diecutting Tim Holt's Tattered leaves. I stamped with the embossing pad and then I put cold embossing powder on it that I heated. I also embossed a text stamp on vellum. This is how it turned out.

Two Winter Tags

I made two tags for En Liten Butiks challenge. You should make something in a technique that you are good at. I embossed snowflakes with a clear embossing powder and then I put different Distress inks on top of it. On one of the tags I put a lot of water and dried it and then put more ink on it but on the other I just sprinkled some water on it and let it dry.

An embossed card

This week at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge blog the challenge is embossing ( heat/ and or dry). I both heat embossed the Happy Birthday and dry embssed the red cardstock. I am still waiting for my card kit from SSS this month so during the meantime I found this paper in a PL kit I bought that looks like the papers I am going to get in the card kit. I got this idea how to make this card last night when I couldn't sleep. I thought the red against the black would look great and it did.

Here you can see the dry embossing better.
