Make It Monday #283 Watercolor wash as background

Hi!

Today I made a card for the Make It Monday Challenge #283 over at Papertrey ink. This time the challenge was to make watercolor washes as backgrounds.

I used my new set called Swan'sational from Papertrey ink with combining dies.

I used my new watercolors from Kuretake Gansai ( they not really new but it was the first time I used them) and they where so wonderful. So full of color and they blended so beautiful.  I stamped the imagages by coloring the stamp with a distress pen and sprayed it with water before I stamped. I forgot to make little splashes of colors all over. I rembered after gluing down the swans and didn't want to ruin the whole card so I skipped it.

Card details:
Paper: Tim Holtz watercolor paper
Watercolors: Kuretake Gansai
Stamps and dies: Swan'sational by Papertrey ink
Banner die: Papertrey ink

I hope you liked it, I liked making it anyway:)

Have a nice day!

No-line watercoloring

Kristina Werner taught us on day 2 of the online card class how to do no-line watercoloring. I decided to give it ago. I think this is the first or second time I do it and I am happy of the result for being a newbie.

I didn't have time to make a card of it yet though!

I used the same stamps as Kristina and they come from Mama Elephant.

Have a nice day!

A Get Well Soon card

I heard about a girl who is in the hospital far away from home and wanted to send her a card. Didn't know how I would start so I took some help from sketch #155 over at Retrosketches.

 I used papers from MME.

Here you can see the different layers.

I saw that Virgina's View Challenge #13 turns one year old ( Congrats Virginia) and that the challenge this time was to emboss. Since I love to emboss I embossed the flowers with gold embossingpowder from WOW before I watercolored them. I also embossed the greeting.

And finally since I used stamps from Paper Smooches I enter the card in their challenge Anything Goes.

Week 1 -Day 1 and card number 3

Ok you might get bored of me today, but I made a third card. This time it is made of the same bit of watercolored background stamp like the previous card. I think I might have went overboard with the pearls though. The tag is a bookmark tag from SSS.

Hand drawn fonts

When I was doing my homework for Day 9 I had the company of my two daughters that also painted with watercolors. They are so good at it and I think they are very artistic. My oldest daughter ( she is 10)  was inspired by Jennifer Rzasa and made her own hand drawn font. I think she did a better job then I.

I also gave this a try and I just wrote with my own handwriting. I thought this would be more difficult then it was. The stars is a die from Lawn Fawn and they are diecut from a glitter paper from DCWV.

Watercolor Freehand

On Day 9 in Watercolor forr Card Makers the lessons where about Watercolor Freehand. Jennifer Rzasa showed us how to make a freehand painting with splatters. Here is my take on it and I thought it was really fun!

Day 4, Watercolor stamping

Today I will show you some more cards I have made for the Online Card Class "Watercolors for Card Makers". First I will show you a card inspired by Jennifer McGuire. I made two cards , the first one I used blue watercolor paint to make the rectangle.

For my next card I did the same technique but I used several distress ink colors. Then when it was all dry I embossed the text stamp with gold embossing powder from WOW.

Her you can see how it shimmers.

Day 2, Card 3

Jennifer McGuire taught us a technique with rubber cement. I found masking liquid/fluid (maskerings vätska) in the art store that is basically the same. Tried it today on a flower from Momas. This card is very tiny so I didn't have any room for a greeting.

Day 1, card 3

Here is the third card I made yesterday for the Watercolor for cardmaker class. I must say that the homework is really fun in this class! This card technique was shown to us by Kristina Werner.

The background stamp comes from Hero Arts and the "Grattis" stamp comes from Gummiapan. And by the way I am using a really small set of watercolors that I got in a card kit from SC. Next time I think I will use my daughters watercolour sets, they have more colours in theirs.

Watercolor for cardmakers

Hi, I was so lucky that I won a spot for the class Watercolor for cardmakers over at OnlineCardClasses. It is not to late to sign up if you want to take it. I am a bit behind but I have managed to make three cards for Day 1. The first day was all about watercolour backgrounds. Jennifer Rzasa showed us a fun technique with stencils and here is how my card turned out.
