Magnificent Masking

Hi there again today!

Now I am going to show you the card I made at MFT's card camp and the challenge Magnificent Masking.

I watched the video and wanted to do something similiar with my die called Snow drifts from MFT. But I wanted to use it for a nautical theme. Unfortunately my masking paper ripped the paper a bit so I had to cover it up a bit.

I used several blue distress inks and the lighthouse is a die from Marianne Design and the Grattis (Happy Birthday in Swedish) comes from Gummiapan.

So now I earned another badge.

Background Bonanza

Hi there!

MFT Stamps are having this fun card camp at their blog. I wanted to join the last camp they had but didn't have time and now I am doing this in the nick of time. I might not be able to do all the challenges but I have done two so far. I started with the background bonanza. And I used stamps from MFT called Recipe for happiness.

I stamped my images with versamark and sprinkled white embossing powder on them before using my heat tool. Then I colored the whole background with distress ink; wild honey, picked raspberry and spun sugar.

I colored the chef from the same stamp set with copics and cut out  a shape from MFT's Inside and out Stitch Round rectangles.

I earned a badge too:

I am lifting Yoonsun Hur

Hi there!

This week we are lifting someone we like over at  En Liten Butik and I chose to lift Yoonsun Hur. I really like how she uses watercolors on her cards.

I chose this card to lift because I like how she colored outside the lines and how she used "happy" colors.

YoonsunHur-MFT-SeptemberRC-Day1-A01

Here is my card and I wasn't so brave so I didn't dare coloring outside the lines:)

I used distress inks to color with and the stampset is called Loads of fun from Lawn Fawn. The text stamp comes from Scrapfabriken and it says Chared happiness is clean happiness. It should go with a stamp of a reindeer = ren in Swedish that also means clean. So I thought it was funny to use it on this card.

Have a nice day!  Hugs Cissi DS

No-line watercoloring

Kristina Werner taught us on day 2 of the online card class how to do no-line watercoloring. I decided to give it ago. I think this is the first or second time I do it and I am happy of the result for being a newbie.

I didn't have time to make a card of it yet though!

I used the same stamps as Kristina and they come from Mama Elephant.

Have a nice day!

Homework Day 2

Hi! On day 2 of the online cardclass Laura Bassen taught us a bit about making backgrounds with distress colors and peerless watercolors. Since I only have distress inks I used them to make a background and a card. I used copics to color the cute critter from Lawn Fawn.

Have a nice day!

PPP Blog Hop Card # 2

watercolor.bloghop

I made two cards for the Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop. While I was making the first card I wanted to do more a male version with the same technique. So I made this card.

The stamp comes from Papper Smooches and the coffee stains is made by a stencil from Tim Holtz.

Have a fun blog hop!

Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop

watercolor.bloghop

Pretty Pink Posh is having a big blog hop again and this time it is all about watercolors. I made a card with my beloved distress inks, I used them both for the background and to color my stamps. The stamps comes from Lawn Fawn.

Have a fun bloghop!

A coral butterfly

Over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog this weeks challenge is to use the distress ink abondoned coral. Since I don't have it yet I used a ink from Wplus9 called Flamingo ( closest I could get).

I used a watercolor paper from Tim Holtz and I first put a layer of Tumbled glass on it and then I put Broken China on it through a stencil. I then splashed water and ink on top of the paper.
The butterfly is a die called Paulina from SSS. I used a different stencil on top of the butterfly and put the Flamingo ink on it.
To make the butterfly pop more I put a piece of vellum underneath the butterfly. The Grattis is a die from Roxstamps.

Mists and stencils on a LO

Today I am showing a layout I made for En Liten Butik. I wanted to make a layout using my mists so I used Tropicana Teal and Gold Lame from Heidi Swapp then I stamped with distress ink and used inca gold through a stencil. Then it looked like this.

And after adding papers and photo and decorations it looked like this.

If you want more info on which products I have used go to En Liten Butiks blog.

I think you are so cool

Today I made another card with my new stamp set from Paper Smooches called Chilly Chums, and I made the card for this weeks challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Blog. This week it is a Designer Drafts Challenge and the sketch looks like this.

I used various colors of Distress inks to make my background and then I embossed the snowflake that is in the stamp set with Wow Metallic Gold embossing powder. I colored the seal with Pumice stone distress color and the scarf with Chipped Sapphire. The speech bubble comes from Hero Arts.

I am also entering this card in Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search.

Lots of leaves

Today I made two similiar cards with two different techniques. I used my new stampset from Hero Arts called Scattering leaves.

On the first card I pressed (spiced marmelade, mustard seed, mowed lawn and fired brick) mini distress inkpads on the stamps and then I sprayed them with water before I stamped  on water color paper.
On the second card I pressed the same mini distress ink pads onto the stamps and then stamped it directly on the paper. But after I stamped I took a damp brush and painted on the leaves to make the colors blend. This technique gives you more control of the result.

On the first card I embossed the greeting that comes from Simon Says Stamp and on the second card I stamped a greeting that comes from K-design.

I enter these cards in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog and the theme this week is Anything Goes.
Have a nice day!

A fox for the Foxy Foxes Challenge

I wanted to make a card but didn't know where to start when I saw this challenge to make something with a fox on it over at the Foxy Foxes Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. The challenge ends tomorow so hurry up if yoy want to play along.

Anyway I grabbed my still unused Into the woods and Happy Trails stamp sets from Lawn Fawn and got inking. I even masked the fox and the trunk ( never do that). I coloured the fox with a ink from Jenni Bowlin called Chicken Feed and the trees and the background I coloured with various distress inks. The hello I stamped first with black ink on the paper but I didn't like it so I stamped it again with one of my new inks from WPlus9 (Flamingo) that I won at a Bloghop over at the CAS(E) Study Challenge Blog. I am so happy that I won! They are great inks, love them! I cut the hello stamp out and put it on 3D dots over the black one and it looked so much better. The clouds and grass are dies from Lawn Fawn and the paper is also from Lawn Fawn that I got in an old kit from SSS last year.

Lovely leaves turned into lovely feathers

The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge has a lovely inspiration photo this time, and I got so inspired that I had to make a card for it. I started yesterday but it took so long time for the card to dry before I could finish it so that is why I am entering it in the last minute.

I was so inspired by the colors that I used nearly all my red distress inks to make the background on watercolor paper. Then I sprayed it with Mr Huey's mist called Shine that made the card shimmer. I don't have any leaves stamps but I found some feather dies from SSS that I gold embossed. The stars also comes from SSS and I diecut them out of a black glitter papper from DCWV. And the Happy Birthday stamp is also from SSS.

It was really difficult to photograph this card and the colors are not right, well I hope you like it anyway.
I hope you have a wonderful day today!

The Cutting Edge Blog Hop

Paulina over at Pretty Pink Posh has arranged a Blog Hop called the Cutting Edge Blog Hop and  everyone can join in and make cards as long as you use a diecut on the card. And since I just bought some nice dies from Pretty Pink Posh I wanted to use them and join the Bloghop.

cuttingedge

For my card I used the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Film Strip and their sequins called Spring Mix. I also used a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Best Fishes and the coordinating dies to the stamps.

More homework

Today even though I am so tired, ( a sideeffect of one of the antirejection medicins I am taking ) I managed to make a card for Day 3 of Stretch Your Stamps 2. Debby Hughes showed us how to stretch alphabet stamps and she used an alphabet stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Milo's ABC. And it might be the first time that I have a stampset they using in the onlinecardclasses. Wow!! I kind of CASED Debby's card.

I can never decide which photo I like the best so again I am showing you two nearly the same:)

It doesn't show so well but the word on the cloud is happy.

I used a small stencil from Heidi Swapp, I stamped the words with ink from Simon Says Stamp and I also used distress inks. The balloon die and the happy die comes from Simon Says Stamp and the stars from Studio Calico.

Homework- Day 2

Today I managed to make another card as part of my homework for Stretch Your Stamps 2. Young Laura Sterckx showed us how she distressed a card so it got an ombre effect, This is my take on that. The die comes from Simon Says Stamp and I so love the little border aound it that you can diecut in another color but I think I have to match them up better next time:)

Happy Birthday Fishes!

On the last Wednesday every month Simon Says Stamp has something called Work It Wednesday. This last Wednesday in July the theme was blue. I just made a Birthday card for a friend of us who comes from Australia and loves to go fishing, thought my new SSS stamps where perfect. And of course it fits perfect with the theme.

Of course I made the ocean with my beloved distress inks and I coloured the fishes with my copics.

Week 1 -Day 1 and card number 3

Ok you might get bored of me today, but I made a third card. This time it is made of the same bit of watercolored background stamp like the previous card. I think I might have went overboard with the pearls though. The tag is a bookmark tag from SSS.
