World Card Making Day

Hi everybody!

Today is World Card Making Day and I am celebrating that by showing you the only card I made today. Had to do errands today like ordering new glasses for the little one since she accidently smash them in the dooor and by a dress for her for her aunties wedding in London. So I didn't have much time today to make cards.

I made this card as a condolence card for my neighbor who's grandmother just died.

I used  Moxie Fab World WMCD Sketch for my card and it looks like this:

It was very difficult to photograph this card since I used metallic coppar embossing powder on the black paper ( but I wanted an autumn colour), so I am showing you several photos.

The leaves are stamps from Hero Arts.

The stamp comes from K-design.

I am also entering this card in Less is More Challenge Blog and their week 192 Colour Challenge which is Autumn's Bounty.

Have a Happy World Card Making Day!

Lots of leaves

Today I made two similiar cards with two different techniques. I used my new stampset from Hero Arts called Scattering leaves.

On the first card I pressed (spiced marmelade, mustard seed, mowed lawn and fired brick) mini distress inkpads on the stamps and then I sprayed them with water before I stamped  on water color paper.
On the second card I pressed the same mini distress ink pads onto the stamps and then stamped it directly on the paper. But after I stamped I took a damp brush and painted on the leaves to make the colors blend. This technique gives you more control of the result.

On the first card I embossed the greeting that comes from Simon Says Stamp and on the second card I stamped a greeting that comes from K-design.

I enter these cards in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog and the theme this week is Anything Goes.
Have a nice day!

A tag

There is a new challenge blog called Tag You're It  and it's all about making Clean and Simple tags. For this challenge which is number 2, the talented Laura Bassen is the guest designer and has made a gorgeous tag.

I embossed a background stamp from Hero Arts with white embossing powder and then I used similiar colors as Laura used. The leafs is a die from Hero Arts and the hello a die from SSS that I put two coats of Glossy Accent on ( but you can't really see it).

I also enter this card in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  that ends soon and the theme is emboss it.

Challenge # 43: Inspired by a Hero Artist

Over at A Blog named Hero they have a challenge right now that involves being inspired by a Hero Artist and that is not difficult. When I saw Kelly Rasmussen do these cards with the new Spice Market stamps I new I wanted to do something similiar.

I used several different Hero Art shadow inks and two stamp sets from the Hero Arts/Basic Grey collection Spice Market.

Day 2, Birthday wishes with distress ink

I have finally done my first card for Day 2 of Watercolors for Card makers.  Debby Hughes showed us how to stamp a large background stamp with distress ink. Had to stamp it a couple of times before I got the right amount of ink and water to make it look nice. I bought some glitter cardstock from DCWV today at Panduro and I diecut some stars out of it. I made the ink splatters from three different distress ink. The stamp comes from Hero Arts and the small one from SSS and the turquoise paper comes from IKEA. I thought this turned into a really nice card for both men and women.

The Distress ink bleed technique

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog has a new challenge called Animal Antics and it means that you should make something with an animal on it. And simce I am in love with my new stamp from Penny Black I used it again. But this time I coloured it with distress ink. I also did a distress ink bleed technique on the text stamp that comes from Hero Art. Of course it is from the wonderful Jennifer McGuire that I learned about the technique.

My daughter Ella who is nine also coloured the little cutie, but with inktense pens.

Another optical illusion card

Laura Bassen made a card for class on the topic optical illusion. I tried to do a similiar but it didn't turn out nearly as good as Laura's. I don't have any stamps that are circles so I tried with stars and I realised afterwards that my text wasn't bold enough so it didn't stand out enough. I used stamps from SSS and Hero Arts.
